My name is Shaun, Hello! I started Pegasus Fightwear in the Winter of 2026. I’m from Newcastle, a city known for its people! Passionate, friendly AND we have an insane combat sport community which I was introduced to late in 2022 when I first attended a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Class!
I’m a white belt and have been around 4 years albeit inconsistent for the first few. I instantly fell in love with Jiu Jitsu and loved the community that came with it. I’ve met some great people through Jiu Jitsu from all walks of life and a variety of ages but all with the same common goal, to play the game of Jiu Jitsu. I have competed and enjoyed it, I Should do it more really! I won my only show with two match wins 9-0 on points!
My own motivation to start Jiu Jitsu was a simple one, I worked in law enforcement and wanted to learn effective ways to control people, the teaching in my particular place of work has all been adapted by our instructor who guess what, is a BJJ black belt, to quote him “IT’S A SUPERPOWER”.
Now, I always wanted to run a business based on something I loved and when I started Jiu Jitsu I found it! The Pegasus in Greek Mythology has a story, like us all. A journey of continuous struggle and forever seeking self-improvement, now doesn’t this sound like Jiu Jitsu? So, I wanted to come on your journey with you, do it together, and continue to support the growth of our sport.
As I mentioned earlier, I love the community within Jiu Jitsu and the brand has enabled me to be part of other people's journey as well. This is a massive motivation for me, to play a part in someone else's struggle by supporting them where I can.
The plan is to just keep growing, I want to inspire and motivate as many people to just step on the mat and through Pegasus go on that journey of struggle together.
